Position Description:

MCN Solutions, LLC has an exciting opportunity in our IT Department. We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our growing team and support our Capture and Proposal Development Activities. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be detail oriented, able to work in a team environment and independently. You will:

 

 Write a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses.

 Collaborate with capture, proposals, operations, and management teams to develop proposal strategy, solutions, and themes.

 Analyze and understands the requirements of the Request for Proposal (RFP) and plans and crafts responses that adequately meets and addresses these requirements.

 Writes a clear, persuasive, and articulate proposal and related materials; translating past accomplishments into easily understandable text. 

 Rewrites and reviews proposal sections and related proposal documents ensuring accuracy, clarity, readability, and consistency with company guidelines, standards, and customer requirements.

  Analyze data to ensure relevancy of past performance materials to current requirements and describes clear, measurable benefits by mapping past performance to customer and contract requirements.

 Coordinate the display of graphics and the production of the document.

 Ensure content is of high quality and conforms to standards.

 Meet with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review task plans and deliverable items. 

 Monthly travel to client location is required.

Required Skills:

 Candidate should have a minimum of 10 years or more experience of a Technical Writer.

 Develops technical and management approaches in alignment with the bid strategy.

 Assists with the development of the cost volume and conducts interim briefs to leadership to assess strategy, issues, and bid progress.

 Meets proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval.

 Travel to client locations in order to coordinate requirements and plans.

 Provide detailed components of the proposal to include the outline, technical approach, management approach, staffing and transition plans, cost narratives and other components of the final proposal. 

 Participate in color team review sessions as well as recovery from these efforts which will include editing and re-writes of various proposal sections. 

 Provide weekly In Progress Reviews (IPR), Weekly Status Reports (WSR), Monthly Technical Performance Reports and Quarterly Performance Summary Reports (QPS) to management and clients.

 Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.

 Strong writer who is able to interview.

 Excellent verbal and written communication as well as presentation skills.

 Experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Publisher, SharePoint, Access, Visio and Lync.

 Good communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and support personnel. 

 Monthly travel to client location is required.

 

Desired Skills:

 Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent training.

 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or other related discipline.

 

Education:

Position requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area or 12 years of experience in the field in lieu of degree.
